Saturday November 25, 2023 Hike Summary

On Saturday, November 25th, 14 hikers gathered at the former Shawnee Mart in Eddyville, Illinois, to be led on a hike by Cathy Jennings. There were 2 new hikers with us….1 all the way from Nashville, TN. (He came to the hike with his dad, he was on vacation). We moved on down to the Hayes Canyon horse campground North of Eddyville to start. They graciously let us park our vehicles there. Cathy led us out of the camp and to several glades very quickly, including Double branch barrel glade We then followed trails over to Jackson Hole  falls, which was just barely dribbling, and then followed the bluff out, and curved around it to the South. Our last ‘sight’ of the hike was Double branch falls, where two streams come together, then, we climbed out, back through Double branch barrel glade, and out to the campground. It was a Beautiful day for a hike. We could not have requested better weather.  We did see 2 equine groups out for the fresh air, exercise and scenery.

Our next, and Last hike for the fall 2023 season will be on Saturday December 16th, meeting at 10 am at the Rim Rock parking lot. You can call 314-223-3061 for information. There is No need to register for the hike.

Until then, “See ya’ll on the Trail”.
