Saturday, November 5, 2022 Hike Announcement

The River-to-River Trail Society announces its 8th public hike of the 2022 hiking season on Nov. 5th on the Crest Trail from Glen O Jones Lake to Stone Face (Saline County).

This hike is free and open to the public. This will be a hike with hills of moderate difficulty, 4.5 miles length, 5 hours hiking time. Hikers will need to be shuttled for this hike and this will be a through hike. The leader of this hike will be Marcus Owens who can be reached at (618) 534-8139 for more information. Hikers should meet at 10:00 am at the Tecumseh Statue located in the Northwest Corner of Glen O Jones Lake area on CR 625N.  This hike is intended for people in good health who have done some hiking. Hiking sticks and boots or sturdy shoes are recommended. Hikers should bring their own water and snacks. No dogs please. Driving directions from Harrisburg: drive East on Hwy 13 for 9.3 miles. Turn right on Hwy 142 and go 1.1 miles. Turn right onto South Walnut Street and go 4.8 miles. South Walnut Street name changes to Shawnee Forest Road. Turn right onto Eagle Creek Road. Turn right onto Glen Jones Road and go 0.1 mile. Take a slight right on Glen Jones Road 625N and drive 1 mile to Tecumseh statue.
