The River-to-River Trail Society announces its sixth guided hike of the Spring, 2018 on Saturday, April 14, at Panther Den Wilderness in Union County. The hike is free and open to the public. Meet at 10:00 a.m. at Goreville City Park, 313 West Main Street (Goreville Road) in Goreville, Illinois. This is a hike of about four and one half miles in length, with a duration of about four hours. The hike will be of at least moderate difficulty, and is intended for people in good physical condition who have done some hiking. There will be several creek crossings and some off-trail hiking, and the difficulty of the hike might be affected by high water or muddy trail conditions. Feet may get wet. Boots or sturdy shoes, an extra pair of dry socks, and a hiking stick are strongly recommended.  No dogs, please. For information or directions, call Jim at 618-964-1196.
