Saturday October 6th Hike at Cove Hollow

The River-to-River Trail Society announces its first guided hike of the Fall, 2018 hiking season, on Saturday, October 6. The hike will be on trail 001T in Cove Hollow, sometimes called “the Promised Land” by rock climbers, because of the towering bluffs alongside the trail. The hike is free and open to the public. This will be a moderate hike of about four miles, without significant elevation changes, but is nonetheless intended for people in good health who have done some walking. Boots or sturdy shoes and a hiking stick are recommended. Hikers should bring their own water and a snack. No dogs, please.

Hikers will meet at 10:00 a.m. at the East Trigg Trailhead parking lot, one mile north of Trigg Observation Tower and three miles northeast of Simpson, Illinois. For information or directions, call (618) 499-2337.
